David P. Collins began his career in Seniors Housing with ARV Assisted Living of Costa Mesa California in 1980. Mr. Collins directed the company’s capital formation strategies as President and CEO of ARV Capital. During the course of his association with the company Mr. Collins efforts succeeded in raising more than $160,000,000.00 in private investment funding. Employing an all cash or limited leverage structure Mr. Collins sold seventy six Limited and S.E.C. registered Partnerships throughout the United States. He then led the successful flotation of the company’s shares on NASDAQ in 1992. During that time the company became Americas largest Assisted Living enterprise.

 

He served on the Board of Directors of the publically traded firm and was a member of both the Audit and Compensation committees. In April of 2003 , Prometheus Assisted Living L.L.C. (an affiliate of Lazard Frères & Co, L.L.C) acquired all the shares of ARV and took the company private. At that time Mr. Collins was the company’s largest individual shareholder.
